Grain, Soybean Futures Slide on Demand Caution

Prices for U.S. grain and soybean futures fell on Wednesday as harvest wraps up in the U.S. Farm Belt and caution over the demand picture lingers for some U.S. agricultural commodities.

Corn and wheat prices declined thanks to sluggish demand for U.S. supplies of the grains. Corn prices were falling for a fourth session in a row as farmers finish harvesting what is widely expected to be a record haul of the grain and corn piles dot rural roads, analysts said.

Waning interest in U.S. corn supplies from overseas buyers also pressured prices, with producers in South America and the Black Sea Region offering corn more cheaply than in the U.S, analysts said.
