  • 10% Fracking Radish

GENERAL BENEFITS OF SILVER BULLET BLEND

Mix specifically designed to mitigate the challenges of dealing with crop residue – no chemical spraying necessary and it will easily incorporate with the soil and not germinate later in the growing cycle

High biomass production for green manure benefits. High protein crops for rapid breakdown.

Varieties maximize nitrogen fixation and phosphorous extraction

Prevents erosion, increases water percolation, and reduces compaction

Tolerant varieties can withstand various conditions like drought, extreme cold, or saline soils

Creates habitat for beneficial insects and pollinators

Feeds soil microbes and build soil organic matter

SPECIES VARIETY BENEFITS

Annual Ryegrass
Dense roots catch excess nitrogen and help break up hard soils. Acts as nurse crop to fall legumes. 20% protein.

Winter Peas
Nitrogen-fixing legume, reduces the amount of fertilizer needed. Blooms attract bee pollinators. Top N producing legume. 20-30% protein.

Crimson Clover
Nitrogen fixing legume reduces the amount of fertilizer needed. Nutrient scavenger, so it brings up nutrients from deeper in the soil. Crimson clover offers elongated, deep red blossoms to beneficial insects such as bees. 15-24% protein.

Yellow Blossom Clover
Nitrogen fixing legume, reduces the amount of fertilizer needed. Nutrient scavenger brings potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen to the surface of the soil. This drought-resistant clover is a vigorous grower, withstanding many conditions. It is a great source of pollen and nectar for honeybees and other native pollinators. 15% protein.

Trophy Rape
Brassica with deep, fibrous root system, scavenging both nitrogen and soluble phosphorus. Fixes nitrogen. Strong biomass production and winter hardiness. 14% Protein.

Fracking Radish
Deep rooted forage radish, helps break up tough, compacted soil, improves water filtration, suppresses weeds, stores nitrogen. 30% protein.

CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

Mow to stimulate root exudation to feed soil microbes

Minimize tillage using vertical till or strip till to minimize disruption of soil microbial and fungal communities

Minimize herbicide spray to kill back cover crop to protect soil microbes

For use in both permanent tree and vine crops and row crops

FULL SPECTRUM C+P
“We started using FULL SPECTRUM C+P three years ago when our orchard was 13 years old. At the time, California was in the third year of a very dry period of hydrology statewide and our irrigation district was extremely reliant on well water for the second year in a row. The water was adding to the overall salinity of the soil and the effects were more pronounced in our trees because of their age relative to other orchards in our area. Leaf tip burn, trees completely drying up and late season leaf defoliation were some of the negative effects. Our Monterey variety was so stressed from the salty well water that some actually went into a second bloom after harvest. For the first time since planting the trees in 2003, my dad and I began to discuss whether or not we will be able to get 20+ years of production from the trees or if we should begin preparing for removal and replant. As it turned out that wasn’t necessary. In the first year of applying FULL SPECTRUM C+P we noticed immediate improvement in water penetration that led to larger moisture zones. Areas that would have standing water for up to 4 days after irrigations suddenly were reduced to nothing more than wet soil after 24 hours.
